Claire's joke

Claire: "Mommy, say "Knock, knock"

Claire (singing): "I've been working on the railroad."

Ahh, Claire's first joke! I have no idea where she learned it but I hear it about 20 times a day! :)

ball-rolling

What is ball-rolling?
A. Playing soccer
B. Bowling
C. Golfing
D. None of the above

The answer is B. Every weekend we try to go do something fun as a family. Matt and I try to get all the work done during the week so we can do some playing on the weekends. A couple of weeks ago we headed to Fat Cats and went bowling. Or, in Claire terms, Ball Rolling. Seriously, she makes us laugh so hard!

Just a side note: although Matt would beg to differ, I still would have won even if we wouldn't have gotten the scores messed up at the end. :)

Bair Gutsman

A few weeks ago Matt ran the Bair Gutsman race. It is a 13 mile race where you basically run to the top of the mountain and then a little ways down. He ran it in just over 2 hours and ended up taking 5th place. He took a little beating (yes, those are his legs after the race) but had a great time. Way to go sweetie!

Motherhood is one messy job!

So far today I have been pooped on, spit up on (three or four times), had a sauteed red pepper thrown at me, gotten soaked after giving the two girls baths, taken out the garbage and had the nasty water from the garbage can lids drip on me, gotten mud in between all my toes after stepping in the squishy spot in our lawn, and have grass stains on my knees from playing tag with Claire and Stella. And it's only 3 pm. Sigh. I'm off to get myself and the girls cleaned up, yet again.

Where in the world is Matthew H. Connors?

You know how Matt Lauer from the Today show does the segment every year called "Where in the world is Matt Lauer?" and he travels to remote places all over the world? Well, my Matt is beginning to rival him in the travel department! In the past few months he's been to Atlanta, New York City, Brazil twice, is in Florida right now (yes, let's all pray that Hurricane Ike really does miss Florida), and will be in LA next week (and I swear I'm missing some places). Although the girls and I miss him while he's gone, it sure is fun to play as a family when he comes home!

Claire's first day of pre-school

Seriously, can this kiddo look any happier to start preschool? Claire has been waiting for this day for quite awhile and mom was looking forward to it also. Not because I want her to be gone for 2 hours a day but she just loves to learn. She is attending a small neighborhood preschool that is about 3 blocks from our home. Stella and I enjoy picking her up each day and talking about what she's learned as we walk home. She goes from 1:15 - 3:15 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

By the way, I didn't pose her, that is just her! Mom, she reminds me of the little girl you had in kindergarten that would pose for you!
