I don't want to forget...

I am totally an all-or-nothing type of journal writer. I will write daily for years and then not write at all for another few years. Yesterday during quiet time, I went downstairs to my study to prepare the Easter Lesson for YW. As I was looking through the March Ensign (which is all about Jesus Christ - it is powerful), my eyes wandered over to my pile of newly developed pictures that are waiting to be scrapbooked. I started to look through them and began laughing at the memories that were popping up with the pictures.

It then hit me that pretty soon, if I don't record these memories, I am going to forget all the little things that make life so great. I resolved to be a journal writer again, not just for me, but for our kids. So, here are some random tidbits about our life right now that I don't want to forget...

-we are a morning family. It is a miracle if anyone sleeps past 7:15 am. Claire is our alarm clock, waking up each morning between 6:25 and 6:35. And it looks like Stella is going to be the same way.

-I love hearing Claire jump out of bed, shut her bedroom door behind her, run into the bathroom, and then run down the hall to our bedroom yelling "Daddy, mommy, where are you?"

-Claire still pronounces "comfortable" as "chunkable"

-My least favorite chore is grocery shopping.

-Claire can now "pump" on the swings. She would still rather be pushed though.

-Matt is up to swimming 1/2 mile!

-Claire eats a HUGE breakfast, medium lunch, and a small dinner. She is allowed to choose 1 veggie and 1 fruit she doesn't like...after that, she has to try everything. She doesn't like asparagus, but I think it's because of the face Matt makes each time he eats it. And, I don't make it very often so she isn't used to eating it. If Matt had his way, he wouldn't eat hardly any veggies, so I just make a large variety and make him eat it. :) He'll thank me when he's 80! She hasn't met a fruit she doesn't like, as a matter of fact, she has to eat her fruit last because she'll fill up on fruit if I let her.

-Matt's is still doing search and rescue, but they haven't had many searches this year. Maybe people are getting smarter?!

-I generally mow the lawn but Matt does everything else in the yard; including trimming which I am no good at. The one time I've done it, we ended up with "bald spots" all along the fence. OH wait, I help with weeding and planting too.

-Our house is no longer for sale because we can't find ANYTHING in Bountiful that we like.

-Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we have "unplugged" day. This means we don't use any toys that have to be plugged in. With a 2 year old, this means no TV. Claire is usually pretty okay with it, although there have been a few tempers thrown over wanting to watch a movie on unplugged day.

-Stella is a sweet little baby but she is much more headstrong that Claire ever was. She hates having a dirty diaper and will cry at the top of her lungs until you change her. Then, she settles right down and is content until the next one.

-I am always looking for a good book to read. The only problem is I am obsessive about reading; if I get into a book, I will finish it within 1-2 days. So, I've learned that if I have some work or projects to get done, I can't start a book until the other stuff is done. I read pretty much everything, except for science fiction. Can't get into that genre.

-Matt bought his road bike yesterday. He is starting to train for a triathalon.

-Although I love staying at home and being a mom, there are days where I wish I could go to work.

-Matt and I read scriptures together each night. We are in the New Testament and I swear it's taken us 4x as long to read as the BOM.

-Stella no longer has that newborn look. :(

-I love, love, love our home. There are very few things I'd change about it.

That's all for now. I'm sure I'll think of a million more things after I log off!
