1,2,3...wake up Daddy!

Matt and I are early to bed, early to rise type of people. Matt more so than I. He has consistently gotten up at 5:00 am for the past two years to go work out. Go Matt! I have consistently gotten up numerous times during the night to sooth kids, feed the baby, or whatever else and so I generally sleep until one of the kids gets up, usually about 5:45 or 6:00 am.

Anyway, we stayed up Saturday night later than we usually do, hanging out and relaxing. The next morning, we were up at 6:00 am to help get Claire breakfast. First off, for any of this to make sense, you need to understand how important breakfast is in our home! Claire's morning routine consists of getting up, going potty and then immediately heading downstairs to eat breakfast. If you delay getting food into her, she is a whiny, grouchy little kid that throws temper tantrums over nothing. She's not one that you can postpone feeding. So, breakfast is very important to the harmony in our home! Matt usually makes a big breakfast on Sundays; I'm talking pancakes or french toast, juice, sausage, bacon, yogurt...you get the idea.

We ate, got ready, hung out, and then headed out for 11:00 am church. We have sacrament meeting last, so it begins at 12:50 pm. Halfway through the meeting, Claire looked up from the book she was reading and noticed that Matt was sitting with his eyes closed. Somewhat loudly, but not enough to wake up Matt, she said "1, 2, 3" and then in a LOUD voice "Wake up Daddy!" Matt woke up and so did the surrounding 10 benches! Matt, Claire, and I, along with 1/4 of the congregation laughed for awhile over that one! Thanks Claire for keeping us on our toes!

Oh, I'm sad I didn't hear her during the meeting. I would have enjoyed laughing at her sweet irreverance.
