Wow, waaaay too long since I've posted! So, a quick synopsis of what's been going on the past few weeks...
-Matt has been in Savannah, Georgia for work. Hopefully this will be his last week out there.
-Stella is smiling more, crying less, and (mostly) sleeping through the night.
-Claire talks non-stop about her birthday, which is in 3 weeks. Everything is for her birthday. If we go to the store, it's to buy her presents for her birthday. If friends come over, it's for her birthday party. If we go on a walk, it's to go gather her friends up for her birthday party. If we pull out the paints to color, it's to make placemats for her birthday party. You get the idea!
-Dare I say this? I think spring is here to stay! After a May 1st snow storm, it's been beautiful weather in the 70's!
-I am trying to get in 20-25 miles of running each week. I'm a little behind on my training schedule but think I can make it up. Since Matt's been out of town, I've been logging all my miles on the treadmill.
-We finally agreed upon and purchased a leather sofa/chaise set. We've been looking for about a year now and love the one we ended up with. It has a hide-a-bed too! We like the rug we bought on overstock.com and it looks great with the sofa. Good thing since the rug weighed 59 pounds and was from New York. It would've cost us almost as much to ship it back as it did to buy it!
-I am re-doing Claire's room. Since I was sure we were having a boy, I didn't really worry about decorating the tree room. Well, when we ended up having a girl, I decided we needed to re-do the tree room. I'll post before and after shots when it's done!
-We're starting a major landscaping project this week. We've decided to pull up about 1000 square feet of sod and put in 15 trees and lots of other bushes, flowers, etc. This year we're going about the landscaping a lot smarter and more efficiently. For one, we advertised free sod on ksl.com and have had about 10 calls on it (and we only put the ad up Saturday!). We advertised that we have sod for free, you just come with your sod-cutter and cut it out. Definitely the way to go! Last time, Matt did it all by hand. It took him three days and it is hard, hard labor! We also contacted our neighbor who has small Bobcat to help us move the dirt that we'll be putting in. Last time, Matt did it all by wheelbarrow and it took a couple of days to move two dump truck loads of dirt. So, it should go smoother this time, with a lot less effort! I'm excited because I love the landscaping we did a couple of years ago. It makes our yard so much more beautiful and enjoyable.
