Claire woke up and she positively bounded out of bed, down to the kitchen, yelling "Do I get my presents now?". We had fixed her favorite breakfast (pink pancakes, sausage, oj, and key lime pie yogurt) and she ate like a champ! Then Matt was off to work and we headed to the doctor.
It was determined at the doctors that Claire will be getting her tonsils and adenoids out, as well as tubes in her ears. This will be on June 5th.
We then rode the UTA Frontrunner (the new Trax train that runs from Ogden to SLC) to meet Matt for lunch. This was all Claire wanted to do for her birthday. She's been talking about riding the train to see her daddy since they went to the frontrunner display a couple of months ago.
Claire loved the train ride and Stella did pretty well. We met Matt downtown and went and ate pizza. Claire was excited to see daddy's office. She kept saying, "Whoa Mommy, does Daddy really work on top of that big shiny building?"
We rode the train home on the top level and she thought it was so much fun. We played in the backyard until it was time for me to make her birthday dinner. We had her favorite dinner: ham, stuffing, watermelon, and steamed broccoli. Then, came the birthday cake. I made her a red velvet cake with white frosting. She thought it was the coolest cake ever! So much so that she pulled the cake off the counter as it was cooling. So, it looked a little messed up but oh well! The only bad part was I hid her birthday candles a little too well and couldn't find them. So, we improvised and used some Easter egg candles.
We ate desert and then opened presents. She TOTALLY gets the present idea and had fun ripping into everything. She received a large bottle of bubbles, running shoes (she's wanted her own pair for awhile now), a couple of dresses, and a new trike. She rode her trike around for awhile and then she crashed! All in all, it was a really fun day!

Happy Birthday Claire!!!! I love reading your post about her special day! We were busy on this very same day celebrating my brother's birthday! How funny! P.S. I too, surprise clone buddy, am so good at hiding things that even I never find them. I once lost my wedding ring (hid it too well from prospective robbers) for 6 months. Good story!
